Dr. Fone has an incredibly simple UI with marvelously explained step-by-step instructions, so nothing can possibly go wrong. This is the best Data Recovery Software I’ve come across.

To start recovering data, just download and install Dr.Fone on your computer. Next, connect the Android device to the computer used for installing the utility. Upon physical connection, Dr.Fone will immediately identify the device, as shown below:

Please note that USB Debugging must be enabled before continuing with the scan. For Android devices using a later OS version such as 4.1, tap on Settings, then tap on Developer Options, and tap on the checkbox for the USB Debugging option.

Once these steps have been completed, you will be able to select what file types to recover and initiate the scan. Dr.Fone requires the following to operate on your computer:

How To Recover Data on Your Android Device

To restore all data on an Android phone or tablet, first make certain the device is connected to the computer used for installation of Dr.Fone. Then open the utility and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Dr.Fone will connect and identify the device for recovery. After this process has completed, you will be able to select what types of files will be located during the scan. By default, Dr.Fone selects the following file types for recovery scanning:

·      Contacts

·      Messages

·      Call History

·      Gallery Images

·      Audios

·      Videos

·      Documents

·      WhatsApp Messages & Attachments

To remove a file type, simply uncheck the box next to its name on the screen. If you want to restore more than one file type, make certain a checkmark resides in the check box next to each desired item.

If all data on the Android phone or device should be restored, simply leave everything checked and then click on Next in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Choose the Recovery Mode to be used for data restoration on your Android phone or device.

·      Standard Mode – Scan for deleted files or all data on the device.

·      Advanced Mode – An alternative option when standard mode does not locate the required data.

After selecting the recovery mode, click on Next in the bottom right corner to continue with the scan.

Please note that the located files will not have their original names or file structure when advanced recovery mode is chosen.

Step 3: Next, Dr.Fone will need to apply an on-click root to the device to recover as much data as possible. Click on Next to start this process and continue with the scan.

The utility will analyze your device in preparation for the scan and this process will take a few minutes to complete.

Step 4: Wait patiently for the scan to complete. The scan will start automatically after the device has been analyzed. A progress bar at the top of the screen displays a percentage and estimated time for completion.

As the scan is in progress, you may click on an item in the left panel to see what data has been located based on the file type (i.e. Contacts, Gallery, etc.).

Step 5: Next, choose the items or categories of files you want to restore to the device. On the left of the utility, you will see a panel with the file types that were located during the scan. A count resides on the right side of the name and selection box resides on the left side.

By default, Dr.Fone checks every item for recovery; however you can uncheck a category in the panel or click on the category name to view and choose individual files for recovery.

After a category has been selected, you will see all located data for that file type on the right side of the screen. Please note that viewing options will vary based on the chosen file type. For example, contacts has the option to view only deleted contacts, as shown below:

If you are viewing images, the view defaults to a thumbnail image, but may be changed to a list format as well. Click on each category on the left panel to view and make selections.

If the category is checked in the left panel, then all items within that selection will be recovered to the device. For example, in the image below, Gallery is checked and all images found by the scan will be restored unless otherwise specified.

Additionally, you may check individual items on the right side of the screen and only recover them to the device.

Step 6: Click on Recover in the bottom corner of the utility after choosing the data you would like to restore. Dr.Fone will automatically restore each item to the connected Android device.

Dr.Fone provides a simple to use tool for salvaging photos, music, and other important items that have been lost or deleted from your Android phone or tablet. To recover important data, simply complete the steps outlined below:

1.    Connect the Android Device.

2.    Choose the Files Types to Scan For.
